Marketing Director


General mission of the role : 

Location : Kampala, Uganda

The Marketing Director actively participates in the company growth by strategizing and analyzing the different countries where Lapaire is present in Africa. He/She will be responsible for designing and implementing winning marketing campaigns in all countries, whether remotely or on the ground. The Marketing Director will directly manage the Content team and coordinate and oversee the execution of the marketing activities by country teams remotely (indirect report line).

He/She will report to the Chief Operating Officer, and will work in close collaboration with the different Country & Cluster Managers, and Communications Director. 


The responsibilities of the Marketing Director : 

Design and implement a 360° marketing strategy to grow the Lapaire brand

  • Leveraging the brand strategy, draw the annual offline and online marketing strategy with a clear plan and budget at the group level, and country level 
  • Optimize budget allocation across channels to meet targets : Above the line (media buying), Below the line (SMS campaigns, sponsorship, activation campaigns) and integrated marketing.
  • Build the monthly social media plan (paid/generic), organize the online ads directly and coordinate the execution of the generic posting locally leveraging marketing executives and influencers
  • Ensure a wide visibility of Lapaire online through the launch of new platforms (eg. Tik Tok, Youtube, snapchat) and maintain Lapaire online presence up to date (website, social media pages, google pins etc.), and other new digital initiatives.
  • Structure and deploy the annual promotional planning, actions for new branch openings and new products launch, initiate new operational marketing ideas.

Build strong win-win partnerships beneficial to our brand awareness and image

  • Assess and engage discussions with potential partners to identify common areas of interests
  • Identify and sign strategic partnerships with external partners

Strengthen our customer centric approach to grow client satisfaction

  • Analyze the entire customer experience at Lapaire and suggest improvements along the customer journey, taking into account costs and ROI

Contribute to the development of the marketing mix 

  • Support other departments and provide technical expertise for the launch of new products and marketing campaigns.
  • Develop sales tools and sales pitches for the salesforce.
  • Define the form and content of sales materials (information and advertising at the branch, price lists, product sheets, catalogs, etc.).
  • Manage the supply of all sales materials.
  • Plan, prepare and coordinate Lapaire's presence at trade shows (design and set up of Lapaire's booth, marketing materials, merchandising, etc.).

Organize and manage the marketing department 

  • Gather and analyze key information from the local operations and marketing teams to design tailored marketing campaigns for each market. 
  • Provide clear guidance and feedback to all the marketing teams to ensure perfect execution of all the marketing activities across countries.
  • Ensure proper training and development of the marketing team across countries, whether local or central team.

Supervise all the production of artworks and contents to deliver quality creative contents

  • Ensure quality deliverables from the graphic designer, respecting the Lapaire graphic chart
  • Supervise directly or indirectly photoshoots to ensure high quality deliverables
  • Support the local teams in selecting the best suppliers and service providers for marketing activities.
  • Follow up on the execution of orders with our suppliers and external service providers to avoid any delay in the conduct of the marketing campaigns.
  • Ensure smooth and timely logistics for the distribution of marketing materials.

Measure the impact and effectiveness of marketing efforts

  • Define objectives and monitor performance indicators for all marketing activities, whether online or offline.
  • Optimize the activities implemented according to the results obtained and adjust quickly, when necessary.
  • Track brand-related performance indicators such as awareness, penetration and perception leveraging online and offline surveys
  • Submit performance reports to top C-level executives.


Bachelor of Marketing, Commerce or General Management with at least 5 years of experience in Marketing, Sales or Operations 

Expert in managing projects and proven ability to manage multicultural teams in different countries in Africa is definitely a plus !

Expert in using Pack Office, Google suite, CRM and IT tools in general

Professional French and English, oral and written required for the role. Previous experience in a French speaking country is highly valued.
